The Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island is one of the most famous landmarks in New York and one of the most photographed sites in the city. Therefore, there are also many tours that will take you to or from Liberty Island – so you are spoiled for choice. A visit to this property is a wonderful experience for many: and this is what awaits you!
It starts at Clinton Castle in Battery Park – you can pick up your pre-booked crown tickets here. Once you have it, you will receive a wrist bracelet that gives you access to the crown. From Clinton Castle, you walk approximately 100 meters to the security check (as with all other tickets). It is not to be missed, it is a large white tent where all visitors go.
The next destination is the white Liberty Cruise ferries, which first go to Liberty Island, where the Statue of Liberty is located. Later they commute to Ellis Island (including a stop) and then at the end they land back in Battery Park. After 20 minutes you are finally on the island.

With your Crown Tickets, you go straight to the back of the Statue of Liberty for the next security check. Here you can lock your backpacks and bags in closets, as they cannot be taken with you to the Statue of Liberty (cameras, phones, drinks, and medicine only). Then it will be interesting.
Once you enter the Statue of Liberty, you can visit the Statue of Liberty Museum.
The first station in the statue is the first observation deck (“pedestal”), you can walk 150 steps like us, or take the elevator. From here you have a wonderful view of the island and Manhattan! The steps here are very wide, and you can climb with children very naturally (not like at the last station!).
The path to the crown is really a little tiring: 354 steps lead up a small narrow spiral staircase. In the summer there are always small “exit points” where you can rest when you’re a little out of breath! Once you finally reach her, you will be greeted by two National Park Service rangers: “Welcome to the crown of the Statue of Liberty – you did it!”
The downward look is breathtaking – here for the first time you will understand how high the crown is. Since there are many small windows in the crown, the “image area” you see is always relatively small and tight.
If you still want to buy Crown tickets, you can only do so through the official website. Since the number of tickets is limited (there are only 100 per day), they usually need to be ordered several months in advance.
As soon as you buy tickets to visit Crown, you will receive an order confirmation, which does not yet guarantee a visit. Availability will be verified and if the desired time slot is indeed free, you will receive an explicit ticket confirmation by email. This includes a confirmation number (ticket confirmation number) that you must bring with you to pick up at Clinton Castle, in addition to your ID (this could be your passport or ID).

If you have physical disabilities, feel dizzy quickly, are afraid of heights, or are anxious in tight quarters, visiting this facility is not appropriate. The park keepers strongly advise against doing this.
Can young children go to the Crown?
Unfortunately, this is not possible – only children 1.20 m tall (who can walk the stairs alone) can do this. As I said, it is very tiring and there is nowhere to climb stairs next to each other. How often do the ferries run?
Ferries leave every 20-30 minutes, which is the best departure time for you, as indicated in the confirmation email you receive after purchasing your Crown tickets.
